Accepting Jesus Christ As Our Saviour
Is there a hole in your life? Something that is missing? Perhaps you are going through a difficult time and you are looking for answers? Perhaps you have achieved all of your worldly pursuits (wealth and fame) but you still feel empty?
The truth is that God created all of us, in His image. But He did not program us or create us to simply be robots. He gave us free will, so that we could choose our path. Through Adam and Eve, we chose to disobey and go our own way. Because of that we are all born with sin. The Bible explains that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). Some seek gratification in this world through fame and fortune, but the Bible says, "For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" (Mark 8:36). This does not bring us peace or everlasting life. Why are the rich as miserable as the poor, sometimes even more so? There isn't enough money in the entire world to bring peace to our souls.
Many think they can buy their way into heaven and before God by doing good, but the Bible clearly states that "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:8,9). There is a fallacy today, where many believe that if they are good enough or do enough good, they will find their way to heaven. This does not work. We cannot bribe the Creator of the universe or purchase our salvation. He doesn't need your money. And if anyone thinks that they are good enough for heaven, the Bible states "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; (Romans 3:23). All, not some, not most, but ALL have sinned and ALL come short of the glory of God.
So where is your hope? God has provided us the means. Many have heard the words "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved". (John 3:16, 17). God sent His Son Jesus Christ so that we might be saved. God loves His creation. He loves and cares for you.
Jesus Christ came to our world for one purpose, and that is to save the lost. To save you. Not because we deserve it or earned it, but because He loved His creation that much. Upon seeing Him the for the first time, John the Baptist, said "Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world" (John 1:29). Jesus Christ came to our world and sought out the lost sheep. The rulers and religious elite of His day condemned Him and wondered why He chose to address the great unwashed and the sinners of the world. The Son of God called these elitists hypocrites and worse. And for that, He was crucified. But He did not die in vain, but rather He endured death for our salvation. But death had no hold on Him and He rose from death three days afterwards. He died for our sins, and through His shed blood, we can all be saved. It's the simplest thing you can do, but also the most powerful. The Bible states, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation" (Romans 10:9,10).
If you haven't accepted Christ in your life, please do so now. It will change you in ways you cannot even begin to imagine. Regardless what your past has been, regardless what sin(s) you have committed, God is looking to save you! Never believe or accept that you are cannot be saved. Do as the Bible says and make a simple and heartfelt prayer. You don't need fancy words or arcane verses, God will understand you and He knows what's in your heart. Pray these words;
Jesus Christ, I'm just no good. I am a sinner and I know now that I cannot save myself through works or deeds. I believe Jesus, that You came to our world through a virgin birth. You died on the cross at Calvary for my sin(s) and rose three days afterwards. Today, I accept what You did for me, I accept your sacrifice, I accept that you died and rose for me. I accept that Your shed blood has washed me of my sin(s). Please come to me Jesus Christ. I accept You as my Lord and Savior today.
If prayed this and meant it, there is good news. You are saved. You have taken the first of many steps to a new life.
